Our Core Values

We are a self-led community which empowers disabled, learning disabled, neurodivergent and older people through support and skills development, in an inclusive environment where everyone is equally valued.

Who are we?

Access Dorset is recognised nationally & locally as the leading user-led, pan-impairment disability rights organisation in Dorset. We have created a vibrant community hub called The Bridge, located opposite Bournemouth Hospital and close to Littledown Leisure Centre.

Who can join?

This is a place where disabled people, older people, neurodivergent and anyone with any impairments can access activities and support alongside their family and careers, that improves their wellbeing, builds resilience and develops independent living skills.

Who can I expect?

Our activity program is designed to combat loneliness and social isolation, develop peer support opportunities and improve mental & physical health. Our structured activities cater to various interests, from cooking and gardening to performing arts, allowing you to discover new passions while improving practical life skills. At Access Dorset, you'll have the chance to express yourself creatively, engage in gentle physical activities, and keep your mind stimulated through continuous learning.
